My Boss
My boss whom I have known for less than 5 months has some habits.
I obviously have not spent a lot of time working for his company, I have however noticed some traits about him which include that:
* He doesn't take cash with him whenever he is going out.
* When he drives or reaches the venue he is going, he combs his hair well and uses perfume. So he always looks prim and proper.
* Lastly, whenever he is reading, he unconsciously and silently whispers letters, words or phrases of whatever he is reading.
Recently, I noticed that some members of staff have also taken some of his habits. (unintentionally).
For instance, I have heard a member of staff he also doesn't take cash with him when going out anymore. And when we asked about it, he jokingly said he's following the footsteps of the boss.
Also, I once noticed our admin officer pronuncing letters, words, phrase while reading. She did it unintentionally.
The truth is that because they have spent time with him, one or more of his habits has started to rub off on them.
I have heard and seen a number of people dress, talk and behave like their disciplers or mentors. This is because they look up to such person and have spent time with such person.
This made me remember the book of Acts when Peter and John spoke with boldness and the people could perceive that they had been with Jesus. Meaning they had spent time with Jesus. So because they had spent time with him, they have started behaving like him and it could be perceived that they had been with Jesus.
When did you give your life to Christ? Have it been perceived that you have spent time with Christ and the Holy Spirit?
Can someone see you and see attitudes or habits that are Christ like in you?
Whatever or whoever you spend time with would rub off on you consciously or unconsciously.
That is why it is said in yoruba that "aguntan to ba ba aja rin ma je igbe"
meaning that any sheep found in the company of dogs would feed on dungs.
It is good that we check who would or what we spend our time on and with as this directly and indirectly shapes who we become. You are a product of what you spend your time on. So check it!
Your diet is not only what you eat but what you watch, what you listen to, what you read, the people you hang around and so on. Bad company corrupts good manners. Be mindful of the things you put into your body emotionally, spiritually and physically.
Don't forget to spend time with the word and the person of the Holy Spirit. I'm very positive that would rub off on you well. Don't spend time on the scripture just to know the scripture. Instead, spend time to live the scripture. It is not how much scripture you know but how much scripture you live.
Thanks for reading. Guess the habit I picked from my boss
Enter your comment...it not in the numbers of scriptures you know but the depth of the scripture you know... this is reoccurring again in less than 24 hours. Lord help me.
