Don't Waste It!

Mom and I
My mom has this habit of not wasting things. Whenever we cook excess,  she prefers to refrigerate it than pour it away even when no one is interested in the food again. She likes buying medicine for me all the time especially when I'm travelling or leaving home for a while. But I don't use them. So, I kept them in my medicine bag.🤣

While going for my youth service, she bought so many drugs for me ranging from blood tonics, antibiotics, malaria drugs, to pain killers, among others. Every time I came home during service year, she packed drugs for me again.

Alas after service year,  I came home with a bag full of drugs and she was amazed.

She kept asking me why I didn't use the drugs and I kept giving excuses.
Whenever anyone was in need of medicine in the house or even a stranger, she would always give them from my medicine bag.

I soon discovered that my medicine bag was empty. So, I challenged her for giving away my drugs.

She replied by saying because she didn't want the drugs to waste. The same way she doesn't always want her food to waste.

Come to think of it, why was I challenging her when in reality I still wasn't going to use them?

So I thought about it.
If my mom couldn't afford me wasting her food and drugs how much more God.

God has invested so much in you and I. You have a gift(s) that God has placed in you out of His benevolence.
The same way my mom started giving out the drugs she initially gave to me (but I didn't use) is the same way God is going to take away the gifts we are making dormant and give to those that are willing and ready to use them.
The same way i was giving excuses about not using the drugs is the same way most of us give excuses about not using our gifts.

Remember the story of the guys with the talents?

One had 5, one had 2 and the other 1.
The one with 1 decided to hide his' and not make use of it. At the end, it was collected from him and given to the one that had 5 initially.

Don't bury your talent.

Don't waste your gift.

Put them to use while you still can.

It's not too late to start making use of it even if you haven't been doing that.

*If you have been doing that, don't stop, keep pressing and it would be multiplied.*

You might be thinking that you do not have a gift to use. That's a lie from the pit of hell. You sure have gift(s) in you. Mind you, there is this popular quote about God "God doesn't use the qualified, He only qualify the available"

Be Available for God's use.

There would never be another you so let your gifts shine.

That's what you were made to do.

You were made to shine.

So shine. Shine for the Masters' use.
