Go home

(This was originally written 2years ago. However, I am sharing because since the inception of Corona, a lot of people haven't gone HOME.)

When last did you go home?
A few months ago, I traveled to Lagos. When I got home, there were so many changes on the street, even changes in the house. For instance, there was already a new hotel in front of our house, there was already a club abi bar beside the hotel with so many decorations and colorful lights.
The changes also brought about other changes. For instance, because of the bar and hotel, every night is always noisy with deafening music, the area is always filled with people towards the evening time and sometimes there would be quarrels and misbehavior as per people are 'high'.

What I am trying to say is that the last time I went home, there were serious changes in the area. Even the street lights were functioning well. The club and hotel kinda made the street more beautiful and colorful, especially at night.

But I kept wondering and saying to myself that the 'area has really changed oh'. How come I didn't notice. I spoke about it and someone laughed and replied 'when last did you come home?'
With that, I kept quiet. The person was right. I didn't notice the change because it been a while I went home. A change was going on and was unnoticeable to me because I was absent. If I had been going home regularly I won't be surprised when the buildings were eventually completed because I had been going home.

The question of today is then 'When last did you go home?' Yes, you! When last did you go home? When last did you visit our home? When last did you visit our dwelling place?
God is our dwelling place. When last did you visit God?. To visit God, you have to be in the secret place. When last did you visit the secret place? When last did you fellowship with the father?
It is wonderful to attend church services on Sundays but it is not enough
Hope your visitation is not just on Sundays alone? Or you can't even remember the last time you visited?
It is not even enough to fellowship with God yesterday and not fellowship with Him today. It is not enough to fellowship with Him today and not fellowship tomorrow. There is a need for consistency.
Psalm 91:1 says that he that dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. It is not he that dwelt, it is not he that would dwell. It is he that dwells. It is not enough to say you have dwelt in the secret place, it is not enough to say you would dwell in the secret place. You have to be dwelling in the secret place. You have to be consistent.
The book of James chapter 5 verse 16 also says that the fervent, earnest, heartfelt, persistent, and continued prayer of the righteous availeth much. It's not the prayer per se, it is the continuous prayer, it is the persistent prayer, it is the fervent prayer. This means there is the need to be consistent, there is the need to be persistent, there is the need to be fervent, there is the need to not just visit the secret place but dwell there. We have to be consistent.

What God said yesterday is not as important as what He is saying today and you should move based on what He said but what He is saying. To know what He is saying you have to remain in the secret place. You have to be consistent. You have to be persistent. You have to stay.
Even if there would be a change, I want to be part of that change. But how would I be a part of the change or what God is doing when I don't even fellowship with Him?
If you haven't visited the secret place, it's not too late.
If it has been a while you visited, you can visit today.
Don't just visit, stay!
I pray that God would help our relationship with Him. That we would not just visit, that we would stay.
That we would be consistent and persistent with Him and our relationship with Him.
That we would not pray today and not pray tomorrow. That we won't be one day off and one day on. That we would be a part of what God is doing in our generation.
Before Corona, a lot of people were just Sunday Christians. Now with Corona, a lot of people cannot even remember when last they fellowshipped with the Father.
This is a reminder. Come back home, come back to the father. He is calling unto you daily. He loves to fellowship with you. Stay with Him, abide in the secret place.

May God bless us all and heal our land.
