I want!

A lot of times we make comments like "I want", "God when", "My ovaries", among others. But the reality is we really do not want. We really are not ready.

I have a really cute baby sister and whenever I post her picture on my WhatsApp status, I am flooded with comments like "My ovaries", "I want", etc. but the truth is you do not really mean it. Lemme paint a scenario.

When we first met my baby sis, we all loved to carry her. We all loved to snap her and snap with her. In fact, there are days we dragged to carry her like it was a competition (lol). However, when she starts being edging, she starts crying, or she's messed up herself, we are quick to drop her for my mom. We forget we were competing to carry her and play with her few minutes ago.

And the truth is that is how majority of us are. We shout we want for the beautiful situations and persons and we forget that life is full of both the beautiful and the ugly.

We say we want the cute baby but we are quick to drop the baby once it's time to clean up for the baby. We want the snapchat sessions, picture time, play time, but we neglect the mess up time and the ugly time.

In life too, we are ready to bask in the euphoria of the beautiful, of the successful and of the nice situations but are you ready to put in the efforts to achieve the beautiful results?

When we see a scholar, we say we want, we say God when but are we ready to put in the effort to study? Are we ready for the sleepless nights and the reading all through? Or are we only saying God when for 'saying sake'?

When we see a beautiful couple, we say God when but are we ready to submit? are we ready to love as Christ loved the church? Are you ready to forgive easily? Are you ready to make compromises for your partner?

When you see a successful businessman or woman, you are quick to say God when but are you quick to put in the efforts? Are you ready to keep failing but still persisting? are you ready to give your all to succeed?

When you see a man of God doing wonders, you are swift to covet that gift of singing, of the word and of miracles but are you reading to spend time in God's presence for inspiration? Are you ready to spend time with His word and in the secret place?

It's takes more than "I want" or "God when" to achieve the beautiful things of life. It takes more than mere wishes to succeed. You should be ready to put in the efforts. That is why the Bible says Faith without Works is dead. Don't just be wishing. Be ready to take action and do take the action.

Someone I know would say "if you want to succeed academically, read like there is no God and pray like there are no books to read".

Find a balance. Combine your faith, and your proclamations with action.

God bless!
